Remember “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” with Richard Simmons? Now you can enjoy “Zanzing to Show Tunes” with Zan Raynor!
Come on your own, with a partner, or bring a group for fitness, fun, and friends! We’ll learn musical theatre dance routines to some favorite show tunes while focusing on having fun, getting and staying fit, and making friends.
Zan Raynor has over 30 years experience as a professional theatre director, choreographer, and teacher. She will help you modify the dances to fit your needs and abilities - high impact, low impact, or no impact at all. We’ll work on musical theatre soft skills like keeping your eyes and chin up, your face forward, smiling, and hitting the moves with precision and accuracy. All ages, experience, talent, mobility, flexibility, and genders are welcome. No dance experience is necessary. Whether you’re looking for a chance to dance like no one’s watching or make sure you’re ready when someone is, there’s something for everyone in this class!
No fancy dance shoes or clothes are necessary. Wear what makes you comfortable. Join whichever class works best for you as the age groupings are just suggestions.
In addition to original choreography to musical theatre songs, the class will focus on musical theatre soft skills like keeping your eyes and chin up, your face forward, smiling, and hitting the moves with precision and accuracy. There will be different dances/songs on Tuesdays and Thursdays so if you choose to join only once per week, you won’t miss anything and if you choose to join twice per week, you’ll get twice as much choreography and exercise!
